Watch Team 2 for the Win!!

Today was a great day on Vela! I woke up bright and early to Sophie letting me know it was 30 minutes till my night watch. Watch team two's watch last night was from 4- 8 am. And let me tell you, it was genuinely one of my favorite watches yet! We had so much fun chatting about life, random stories, and, of course, our favorite Barbie movies. Damion, of course, chimed in with some good debates to keep us all awake and thinking. Around 6 am Sedona, Kenzie, and I went on our boat check to make sure we were all safe and sound on Vela! Thankfully, all was good because we had the goat Lexi at the helm! We also had some late-night cereal and ramen. And watched the sunrise! Which was pretty spectacular! Zoe and Kyler also let us sneak our phones out for a quick couple of pictures of the sunrise. After watch, we woke up watch team three and then we went back to sleep. Eventually we got back up at 11:30 to actually start our day. When I came up on deck, there were a couple of dolphins swimming next to the boat, so that was super cool. Today was also the first day the MEGA JOB WHEEL made its appearance! That being said, Clara was our FIRST head chef! Clara, Owen, and Zoe made baked ziti and salad for lunch, which was so good! We ate lunch, then cleaned up, then went to the saloon for our first class of the day, Marine bio.
We learned all about cells and the taxonomy system. After that, we had maybe a ten-minute break before we got called up to deck to put the boat to sleep. So, swabbing the deck🤪 after all that hard work, we went back to the saloon to do our nautical science class. After class, we had another small break, so a bunch of people called their loved ones! During that time, the drophers and chefs got the food up on deck and ready for dinner. Dinner was chicken pot pie, which was also so good! After dinner, we did our daily squeeze. My appreciation was our night watch! Then my question was, "What is one thing you want to do in your lifetime?" Answers varied from skydiving, traveling with a significant other, being a parent, seeing the seven wonders of the world, and sailing across the ocean solo. Then at the end we did a big group hug. Everyone then got to their clean-up jobs. We then went through and practiced our MOB (man overboard) drills. We had a brave soul (Lexi) be our practice victim. She was saved by our fearless rescue swimmer, Annika, and we practiced all the situations, so we are very prepared for anything. I believe after all of this we are going to have a movie night in the saloon!! So Surfs Up!! #themoviewearewatching 🌊🛟 So overall, very grateful for today and all the laughs we all had together!
