Wednesday Sun

Location: Marrakech, Morocco

As it usually does, today the sun rose in the east. That wasn’t much of a surprise. There were zero Velas in sight. Not one. Instead, we saw a mountain range that had previously been hidden by nightfall. Which, to Tilly’s detriment, is not a condition of reduced visibility. She and Callie, however, did only tie in a pre-breakfast game of Catan, which was cut short. Sam and Damian came back spectacularly to secure their tie.
In Merriam-Webster’s most popular work, the dictionary, he defines banal as lacking originality, freshness, or novelty. I would say this is an accurate way to describe breakfast. We had bread, jam, and some cream cheese. Although we did have some excellent orange juice, coffee, and Moroccan mint tea!
After breakfast, we organized our things and got ready for some activities. Some of us practiced making vases and bowls, and others learned how to make traditional Moroccan food! We rushed to eat the rest of the food before hopping into two vans to head back to the boat.
As far as I am concerned, the first section of the ride went smoothly for everybody. I can’t be certain, though, because technically I’m not able to be in two places at once. We saw camels from out the window. Inside the window, I was stoked to be watching one of my favorite movies, Spaghettiman. Perchance I watched some Mystery Incorporated as well.
We stopped for lunch at a small place near a gas station. We got snacks, drinks, and some hot food. After returning to the road, I was able to catch up on some sleep with an extraordinarily comfortable nap.
After arriving back at the boat, we hustled to unpack and get ready for dinner, which Mac had prepared. We ate spaghetti… For squeeze, we shared our roses, buds, and thorns of the day, followed by an excellent performance of Row Row Row Your Boat in a four-part round. We are eagerly awaiting Stella’s big surprise, which she announced as her bud, but for now we will enjoy our last night in Morocco with a comfortable eight o’clock late wake-up.

Shoutout to everyone from home,

Until next time,

Owen

P.s. Deserts get cold at night.
