Open Water Dives and More!
Location: Virgin Gorda, BVI
Today was a mix of different things. As today's skipper, I woke up the boat at 7. We had a breakfast of yogurt and bagels, which some people made much messier than others. After breakfast, we started the day; the plan was primarily centered around diving. The certified divers were diving in the morning and doing other activities in the afternoon, while the non-certified divers had school in the morning and completed our first two open water dives. During our lesson in the morning, we learned how to plan out our dives in regard to both depth and time. When we finished learning that, we took a quiz on it (there are a lot of those) to end the morning.
As the afternoon came around, we moved on to our open water dives. I was in the first group to go with Cami, Francesca, Sydney, and Morgan. We all felt relatively comfortable after the dives yesterday and killed it again. We saw a box fish, two stingrays, and a trumpet fish. I heard rumors of a turtle in the area, but we sadly did not get to see it. After we got all our gear off, Cami, Francesca, and I were the first to return to Ocean Star since we were diving on the catamaran. When we got back, we had a very relaxing afternoon lying on deck under the big shade, which we were all happy to finally have; Cami desperately trying not to lose her tan and me desperately trying to lose my wetsuit tan lines. We then ended the night with chili and rice and more quizzes, of course. We are each starting to settle into our jobs on board, with each day getting a little easier and more fun.
Enjoy Vivinator's feet.
