Diving Day!
Location: Virgin Gorda, BVI
Last night we began anchor watch! From 10 P.M. - 7 A.M. there is always someone on deck keeping track of the boat! This job is in shifts handled by one person however some of the later times come with a buddy! When we are on watch we are keeping track of Ocean Star’s coordinates, keeping an eye out for new boats that happen to anchor near ours, or even if the lighthouse appears to be further away. I was lucky enough to have a buddy for my watch from 1 A.M - 2 A.M! Vivian C and I while keeping track of Ocean Star, of course, also got the chance to see multiple shooting stars! The visibility of the stars from these islands are incredible.
After watch was over everyone woke up for breakfast! We had oatmeal and some fresh fruit. Once breakfast was over we got ready to head over to Gintini to begin our first day of diving! Meanwhile Maeva and Woodrow stayed on Ocean Star and learned the boomswing, sailed, and learned to drive the dinghy. We spent most of the day diving, in my dive group was Vivian C, TJ, and some of the students from Gintini. Even in the shallower water we got to see a school of fish and 2 stingrays! After a long day of diving we returned to Ocean Star (around 6 P.M.) we took our ocean showers and had a meal everyone seemed to love, pasta alfredo!
We had such a fun and very sunny day, filled with dives, sunburns, and laughter.
Hope to be reporting again soon!
P.S. Hi Easley & Perry family I love and miss you all already! Ella, I hope you had a great end to your junior year :) you’re a senior now!
