First Night at Anchor

Location: Gorda Sound, British Virgin Islands

With the crew assembled, we cast off dock lines just before noon. Ocean Star motored to windward up the Drake Channel with her new shipmates taking turns at the helm. Lunch was served underway. By 15:30, we approached Savannah Bay to find that a small groundswell had rendered the bay unsafe to anchor in. We continued on to Gorda Sound and securely anchored by 16:30. Pasta and salad were served for dinner, and the crew was in good spirits as they were formally introduced to the intricacies of the vessel.
