Program Manager, Marine Scientist, PADI Diving Instructor, Mate
Amanda grew up in North Carolina where she spent much of her summers exploring the crystal coast. Led by this natural curiosity, she went to the College of Charleston for a BS in Marine Biology. While in college, she also discovered her love for scuba diving and exploring the underwater world. After graduating, she worked for a study abroad program in the Turks and Caicos Islands. There she led both recreational and research diving. Wanting to pursue higher education, she then went to the University of North Carolina Wilmington for an MS in Marine Biology, where she studied seagrass communities in Florida Bay. Not long after graduation she became a PADI open water scuba instructor, and her passion for education and diving has led her to her role at Sea|mester. She has since added program manager to her roles as marine scientist and dive instructor, and she has gone on to get her Master of Yachts Limited 200 ton sailing license to be a mate onboard as well. Amanda has sailed almost 50,000 nautical miles onboard Sea|mester vessels, and her next goal is to complete her circumnavigation.
