Mate, MedPIC

Ben is from Washington, D.C., and has been unabashedly drawn to sailboats and adventure since he can remember. He cut his teeth as a sailing student and instructor on North Carolina’s Neuse River, learning to command vessels of all shapes and sizes at YMCA Camp Sea Gull. Ben graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in Strategic Communications and a minor in Behavioral Economics from Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. His curriculum included studying and sailing aboard S/Y Argo for a semester, traveling from the B.V.I.’s to Tahiti. His stint aboard S/Y Argo reawoke his passion for sailing and unlocked an entirely new world under the water. Ben embraced the ‘Digital Nomad’ lifestyle, working as Shore Support and Relief Mate for offshore sailing outfit 59 North as he trekked, climbed, dived, and surfed his way through Europe and Central America. Ben holds his IYT Master of Yachts 200gt. MEDPIC and PADI Divemaster.
