Mate
Born and raised in Cascais, Portugal, Francisco discovered sailing at summer camps at his local sailing club. He soon moved into competitive racing, taking part in the 2016 World Championship, the 2017 and 2018 Junior European Championships in the 420 class, and the 2021 SB20 World Championship. Since 2018, he has also shared his enthusiasm for sailing as a summer camp instructor.
Francisco moved to the UK in 2020 to study Business and Management at the University of Reading. He recently completed his Yachtmaster Offshore qualification in Hamble, near Southampton. Outside of sailing, Francisco enjoys playing football, both American and European, playing guitar, and spending time with friends and family.
