PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, Mate
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Keanna knew from a very early age that her future was on the water. Since she was 15, shes owned her own boat and spent countless hours exploring the BC coast. Her sailing career started in high school, where she spent summers teaching dinghy sailing and working as dock staff maintaining a fleet of charter boats in Vancouver.
After high school Keanna joined Sea|mester, sailing across the Indian Ocean, to help kick-start her career as a sailor. Afterwards, she moved down to the Caribbean to become a dive instructor and then began working as a sailing/ dive instructor at a sailing school in the British Virgin Islands.
Since then she has spent the last 8 years split between British Columbia where she started her own sailing school and the Caribbean teaching sailing and guiding dives. After Hurricane Irma partially sunk her parent’s boat she spent seven months in a boat yard bringing it back to life in order to run charters and instructional trips aboard the 50 catamaran. Over the past 5 years to supplement her time in BC she also took a casual job as a Harbour Patrol officer patrolling Vancouver’s Harbour, boarding ships, and undertaking bunkering and safety inspections.
Keanna is very excited to be joining the Seamester team and cant wait to share her passion for the sea with students!
