Mate
For as long as she can remember, Nicole has been captivated by the ocean. At 18, she left her landlocked home in Colorado and traded pine trees for palm trees, relocating to the island of Oahu, Hawaii. During her college years at the University of Hawaii, Nicole began working on sailing catamarans, offering snorkeling, sailing, and whale-watching experiences. What started as a fun college job quickly blossomed into a lifelong passion and career.
After graduating, Nicole advanced her maritime training, earning her USCG 50-ton Captains License with a sailing endorsement, and most recently traveled to Greece to complete the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore certification. Over the past few years, she has worked aboard an expedition sailing vessel, navigating remote regions of the Pacific. Nicole also spent the last two summers as a captain and instructor in the British Virgin Islands, teaching sailing and marine biology to high school and college students. Her passion for teaching was sparked during her time as a Peace Corps volunteer in Peru, where she worked with young adults to foster education, mentorship, and leadership. When shes not sailing, Nicole enjoys freediving, scuba diving, making jewelry, playing board games, and hiking.
