Mate
Born and raised in Grand Cayman, Sam was always drawn to the ocean and spent much of her childhood freediving, sailing, and surfing throughout the Caribbean. She first joined Sea|mester as a student in 2021, sailing from Antigua to Fiji, but pushed pause on ocean sailing to finish her degree at the University of Miami.
After graduation, Sam spent the next year and a half as a sports writer for Olympics.com, while also earning her 200T Master of Yachts Limited license. Now onboard Vela as a mate and media producer, Sam has found a perfect combination of her passions and is looking forward to documenting the adventures ahead with Sea|mester.
