Location: Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda, BVI
Today started off with an Oceanography class, followed by a review of the ship’s ditch kits as well as the abandon ship procedure in preparation for our passage to Nevis. After getting the boat ready for passage, the crew of Ocean Star headed to Spanish Town for some shore time, where many made phone calls home, checked email, bought snacks for passage, and had lunch. Shore time was extended until a little later in the afternoon than originally planned, as we were waiting for some foul weather to pass. After many weather checks, it was decided that we would wait until tomorrow morning to start our passage so that we would not be heading out into the tropical wave between the BVIs and Nevis. The crew had an MTE class followed by dinner and is now watching an episode of Blue Planet before an early bedtime, as we plan on departing at 5 am for Nevis.
