Location: Civitavecchia, Italy

The sun rises once again over Vela. What’s in store for us today? After a scrumptious breakfast made by Anna, Rocco, and Fitz, we piled onto a bus bound for Civita di Bagnoregio. A city built on a steep hilltop surrounded by a gorgeous valley. Then after that, we traveled to the beautiful town of Viterbo, where we wandered, explored, and enjoyed some food and ice cream on the cobblestone roads. Then we all got on the bus and drove back to the boat. For some of us, this will be the last of Italy we see on this trip. We can all feel it now. The trip is wrapping up. During the bus ride back, we reflected. We reflected on this incredible adventure we all embarked upon 70 days ago. We reflected on all the friends we made and the relationships we built. But most importantly, we all reflected on how this journey has changed us. We are all a little older and a little wiser. As I finish up the blog for the last time, I just want to say… Thank you, Vela. This is Joshua signing off.

“Thanks for the adventure-
Now go have a new one!”
