Location: Falmouth, Antigua

Helloooo!
This morning started off at 6:45 when I was tasked with waking up the eight other students. After everyone was up, we had breakfast of yogurt and bananas with lemon blueberry bread made by Heather. Finally, we got our anchors up and headed out to get gas. After some brief anchor complications and a lot of muddy students, we made it out and into Falmouth! The views were stunning, and the boat was rocky, but we settled into our new anchor spot for the next week (ish) and had a lunch of tofu spring roll bowls. Following lunch, we talked about some expectations of the program and finally got to jump in the water. We completed our swim test, which consisted of 200m around the boat and ten minutes of treading water. This was surprisingly exhausting, but everyone passed, and we took our very first ocean shower (exactly what it sounds like)! We had a bit of time to hang out before taking a more in-depth tour of the boat and starting to learn some terminology and about the systems. We had a dinner of fried rice around 6, and we all hung out, cleaned up, and did some whiteboard wordle before the students not yet scuba certified began watching the first open water videos. It was an amazing first full day, and now it is time for some rest before my 3-4:30 am anchor watch. Until next time!
Sending love back home to Mom, Dad, sibs, Kev, and all my friends!!!
