Location: Great Harbor Peter, Peter Island, BVI
Ocean Stars’ new crew awoke bright and early this Am with a keen sense of adventure and somewhat disbelief to be casting their eyes out over the beautiful Caribbean sea at 6:15. As part of their PADI dive training. The shipmates were required to complete a short swim test (what a great way to wake up) before settling down for a relaxed breakfast on the deck. With all the Last-minute provisions and crew thoroughly briefed on life at sea, Ocean Star cast her lines off the dock and motored out of Soper’s Hole Marina to the back of the anchorage, where shipmates were taught the basics of anchoring a 67-ton sailing schooner. After lunch and with the anchor back up on deck, we began the first leg of our proposed 600Nm trip up the Sir Francis Drake Channel and over to Peter Island, where the vessel was secured onto a mooring ball for the evening. The crew has been busy studying diving theory and completing a few short quizzes with Tor before taking their first breath underwater tomorrow. Good night from Ocean Star!
