It all started with Kevin waking me up bright and early for our 12-4 watch. Watch team 3 all made it up in time to relieve watch team 2. Our watch started with some excitement, with heavy head winds and anticipation of getting into the TSS (traffic separation schemes). Once in the TSS, we were met with one or two large cargo ships overtaking us with our slower pace. After a long, dazed watch, we finally slowed down to time our arrival for around 8 AM, and got relieved. Getting up again to some very obnoxious music at the time was definitely not my appreciation for the day, but we all got up, ate some breakfast, and started talking about what the day of BA (boat appreciation) would hold. Started with Destiny, Hannah, Vera, and Emma heading out to go get food for the next 30 days on Vela.

The rest of us stripped out sheets and luckily Enough got the chance to send out Landry off to get professionally cleaned. Then a game plan was set, and everyone started working on certain jobs. People on top bunks started clearing out their beds and cleaning everything in sightespecially fans. The rest were on deck, in the chart house, or in the salon, organizing and cleaning every part of Vela. After a while, almost everyone has moved around the boat, changing jobs to let each other clean their bunks. A quick stop for lunch, and we go right back into it. I stayed up on deck with Jewel, Maia, Adda, and Riley, scrubbing everything in sight. After a much-needed scrub, we brought everything back and into its correct place, including sail covers and life rafts. We add some more people to our crew and fishing at the stern. At this point, the deck is scrubbed, the galley and salon are organized and cleaned, the bilges are reorganized, the heads are cleaned of everything in sight (thanks Thaxton), the chart house is finished off, and gray water is pumped, and Im sure so many more things that I missed. But we are Done. So we eat dinner, and then the missing 4 arrive with what seems like enough food to last the whole 90 days. They all seem a little crazy after 8 hours in one store with one song on repeat. We then load up all the food into carts with flat tires and wheel them back to Vela. Then the real chaos begins. Or what the staff like to call it organized chaos. We unload it all into the salon and start tearing everything we just worked on up, to get all the new food back in the boat. It all makes its way into its respective place, and we seem to have done it all!! BA is DONE!! Everyone seems to be a little spaced out, but we have new, fresh fruit, so its all good.

Sorry for being a day late; it was a scorcher.
