Location: Green Island, Antigua

The crew of Ocean Star woke up early this morning, hauled up the anchors, cast off the dock lines, and moved over to the fuel dock to take on fuel for the rest of our voyage. After a 2 hour motor and a bit of navigating through small passages to avoid reefs, we arrived on Green Island. The crew enjoyed an MTE class, where they learned how to operate the ship’s VHF radio, followed by lunch. After cleanup, we all headed over to the beach to do some windsurfing and relaxing. While some tried their hand at windsurfing, others searched for wood for our beach BBQ and bonfire later that night. While on the search for wood, the shipmates found and rescued a baby sea turtle stuck behind some rocks. After a few pictures, they walked it to the ocean and set it free. Dan and Graham fired up the grills, and everyone had their fill of hot dogs, hamburgers, and veggie burgers. Shortly after, we set up the bonfire, and everyone filled their bellies to the brim with SMORES. We hung out around the bonfire until everyone was ready to head back to Ocean Star. Once back on board, we did the remaining dishes and hauled up the dinghies on deck. Soon after, the crew went to bed in preparation for another action-packed (lots of science and diving!) day tomorrow.
