Location: Passage to BVIs
Today was another action-packed day aboard Ocean Star, beginning with a leisurely but grueling hike up Mt. Scenery. From sea level, we ascended 3000 feet vertically for a spectacular view from the top of Saba. The crew got a little lesson in glass blowing from Jo Bean, a local artist. After shoveling some local fare down for lunch, the crew returned to Ocean Star to prepare for the sail back to the BVI. The main, foresail, and staysail were raised while on the mooring, and then, with split-second timing, the mooring line was released while back winding the staysail. Ocean Star responded to the breeze, and we sailed off the mooring, heading northwest back to Tortola. The crew broke into watch teams and enjoyed 30 kts across the beam for a ripping sail home!
