Location: Lombok, Indonesia
Today was packed with lots of stuff. I started the day at 4:00 am for night watch with watch team 1. The other teams had already gone earlier in the night. It was rough having to wake up that early, but watching the sunrise made it worth it. My eyes kept closing throughout the watch like an elevator door. However, I understood my duty. I AM IN CHARGE of Vela. I accept. I believe. I power through against all odds. I AM VELA. I raised some of the sails for the first time on this trip, which was fun. Zeke saw a flying fish early in the morning, reminding us of sushi or something. Since we were underway overnight, we didnt have a real breakfast, but I enjoyed some yogurt mixed with some other stuff with the rest of my team.
My tummy growled. Grrrrrr! After this, I went back to bed while team 2 took over the watch. The squelch of the VHF radio left me brrrr brrrrr ch ch ch While sleeping, I broke out into a sweat. Later, everyone gathered and woke up for lunch, which was very good. We ate broccoli Caesar salad. Yummy! While eating, the broccoli tickled the blood cells on my tongue. It made me have to sneeze, but I held it in. I sneezed. After lunch, we cleaned up and kept making our way to Lombok. We eventually set the anchor in the pretty bay. BOOM! It rained a lot, but that left a super pretty rainbow. I stared in awe at the rainbow. Wow, this world is so gorgeous, I gasped while I put on sunglasses. They were tilted at a right angle, which tickled my nose. I sneezed again. My sinuses absorbed the ambience. The certified divers made a short checkout dive off the boat while the non-certified divers went to a resort to use their pool to do their first dive! After that, we ate dinner and are now preparing for anchor watch. Good day, 10/10 would recommend.
