Location: Sardinia
To start off this fine Tuesday on Argo, we had some lovely banana bread made by Shane, Axel, and Sam; these 3 were on a roll today. After fueling up for the day, we loaded up the dinghys and all went down to the nearest beach. Some of us had a very wet entry and some rather dry. We set up camp in a quiet spot without anyone around to bother. Everyone got on with activities on the beach, which included football, tanning, building the San Trope beach club, and chicken fights. Firstly, the football match was led by Ryan and Harrison. All the boys got involved, and even Scotty, Emory, Meghan, Avery, and Ella gave it a go. They had a blast and burnt off some energy.
Meanwhile, the tanning team, including Piper, Lily, Sienna, Faith, Carli, and Charlize, was listening to some relaxing beach tunes. Disturbing the peace, there was a burial. Sawyer was buried with the help of Carlo, Gabe, and Brig. Shortly after this, chicken fights commenced with Piper and Gabe against Logan and Harrison, followed by Emory and Ryan. During all this, B was swimming laps, Nico and Ian were floating around. Coming towards the end of the beach fun, Axel turned into a prime architect and started building a beach club, which was made out of two planks, a net, and some rocks. He then worked on the helipad with the help of his builders and scavengers, Brig Derrick. After that, we all got dinghys back to the boat for lunch. Everyone wolfed it down as they were excited to go on shore and get phones.
A chicken Alfredo Lunch was served at noon, although Rina had to try twice because a wave hit the boat right as she was sitting down, sending her bowl of pasta flying across the cockpit. Afterwards, everyone began getting ready to head to shore. The dinghies were loaded, and group by group the students took the 15-minute ride from Argo to town. The last dinghy loaded and upon starting, a flying elbow hit emory right in the temple, there were almost tears but axel saved the day with his jokes. All the students made it to shore & began their adventures, although we unfortunately got to shore during the Italians nap time and all wandered aimlessly until the shops opened once again. Scottie, Sienna, and Carli started a gelato trend, with the entire group quickly following suit. Derrick, Sawyer, and Seb got their hands on Italian brainrot trading cards, which were a huge hit among the boys for whatever reason. Brig, Ryan, Carlo, Gabe, and Axel acquired matching Sardinia shirts, which they wore during dinner. Faith got a gorgeous new dress and Avery got a cutesy sun hat. The students had their fair share of Italian sweets, cuisine, and gas station snacks on the island today, as it was our last day to get snacks for our final few days on Argo. Ryan bought an inner tube, and Gabe bought an inflatable crocodile named Jarilla, which were heavily utilized once we made it back to Argo and had our saltwater showers. During which Ryan, Brig, Gabe, and others took turns jumping through the inner tube and onto the crocodile from the bow. Logan, Sawyer, Sebastian, and Charlize spent some of the shower free diving and the regular flippers and divers did their thing, including Avery doing a backflip off of the bow sprit. Showers were followed by arguably the best dinner so far, Shanes Chicken Curry. The students all hoovered it and had a blast cleaning up. That basically brings our august fifth to a close, leaving us with nothing short of an awesome day and even better memories.
Thank you to Zac for fixing the engine room lights today, which is a huge help to our crew. Two of which, Charlie and Nicole, took a well-deserved swim with some snorkeling and bow acrobatics after sanding the cap rails all afternoon.
