Location: St Barths

For our second day in Saint Barths, we started the morning with breakfast followed by our Oceanography midterm. To keep us motivated, we had a fun day ashore, where we got to go surfing! Getting there was an adventure of its own with an extra-long (and extra wet) dinghy ride to the dock, where we squeezed in between two massive yachts to get off.

There was an instructor for the newer surfers while the experienced surfers headed out on their own. I personally skipped surfing in favor of a fun doctors visit, but Francesca shared some of her highlights:

Chloe and I spent the full surfing time trying to catch party waves. Party waves are when you share the same wave with another person, and we caught three together, but we had one where we were perfectly in sync. The waves were small, but we had so much fun! Our arms started to hurt from paddling, but we kept going until we couldnt anymore. After surfing, Mo, Mack, Hayden, and I took a trip to the laundromat. Getting my clothes out of the dryer was the absolute best feeling ever.

While they were on their laundry adventure, the rest of us grabbed some food and wandered through the shops for a little shopping (or window shopping). We all met back at the dock around 4:30 before hopping in the dinghies for another longgg ride back to Ocean Star.

Back on board, our wonderful chefs made lentil soup for dinner, and we spent the rest of the evening relaxing, working on our Oceanography papers, or calling it an early night before another busy day.
