Location: Dominica
The crew began our day bright and early at 05:45 and ate a very quick breakfast before taking the dinghies to shuttle to land. We were taxied to Trois Pitons National Park, where we began a nearly three-hour hike through the beautiful rainforests of Dominica. The crew battled past muddy terrain, falling rocks, and waterlogged shoes until they drudged through the Valley of Desolation. After 2hr 35 mins of travel, we arrived at the boiling lake, one of two in the world. We ate lunch and began the journey back, stopping at the natural hot springs and concluding the hike with a swim in a cold spring at the bottom of the volcano. We returned to Ocean Star, showered, and left for the Green Flash restaurant for a delicious dinner and our second night out.
