Location: Sawa Il Lau Island
There seems to be way too much to say today than what can fit in my blog post. When you hear that these trips are supposedly life-changing, Im guessing that it is days like this that lead people to think that.
Today began for Jill, Daniel, and Ben with a morning dive, and for me with being their surface eye. By the time they were out of the water, everyone was awake and ready for breakfast. Breakfast today was killeraa bowls of frozen fruit, granola, honey, peanut butter, and coconut shreds.
Today, everyone who completed their AOW dove with Jill, and the rescue divers did a scenario. For lunch, we had Gigi Hadid Vodka Pasta (and you cant forget whose recipe it isGigi Hadid, of course). We all then headed to shore and did some cave exploring.
The caves were a mixture of salt and fresh water, and slightly colder from being in the darkness of the cave. The first cave was bright and open, and the second was accessed by diving through a hole under the water. People enjoyed swimming, climbing the cave wall, and jumping.
After that, we headed back to the boat, showered, and dressed for our evening adventure. The minute we hit the shore of the village we were visiting, the kids flocked. Everyone had a great time playing catch on the beach, and I think some were trying to play rugby. But I dont think it was that successful, since I kept hearing wait, what team am I on again?
We entered the village and first participated in a kava ceremony. Following that, we had the opportunity to walk around a little stand-up market. I bought some jewelry, a few sarongs, and a very tropical button-up shirt that Im going to have to figure out how to style, lol.
Waiting for dinner, everyone gathered with the kids again and played a huge game of duck, duck, goose.
Dinner wasWell, I have no idea what it was, but I attached a picture of it to this blog, so dont you fret. It was incredible. For dessert, we had pumpkin puree with warm oat milk. Also incredible.
After dinner, Im not quite sure what the rest of the group did, but music was playing and I was on an island, so obviously I was dancing. I danced and danced with the dogs and with the kids.
One of the little girls came up and said I was pretty, and I said I loved her dress, and she didnt leave my side for the rest of the night. We danced and twirled in our dresses and laughed.
I think for everyone, it was a day full of adventure and an evening full of laughter and new experiences all around.
Just the thing to end the night, the backdrop of our dinghy ride home was a full sky of stars, and hints of bioluminescence in the water.
