Location: Dominica
We cruised into Dominica early this morning after having to alter our course slightly as a gigantic Carnival cruise bore down on the island. Our trickiest docking yet as Andrew managed to scramble ashore and tie two ‘clutch bowlines’- one to a tree, the other to a boulder, as we simultaneously maneuvered backward and dropped two anchors. Excellent teamwork. As Dan cleared customs, we set up camp on Ocean Star once more and quickly did our knowledge reviews for our first two Advanced dives as a group. We met our local guides and motored out past some sights from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Our Deep Dive and Naturalist Dive were both a success. We ended the day with an Oceanography class and are ready to wake up to a new dawn in Dominica.
