Hi guys, My name is Sidney Wallace Curven, and I narrated the last blog post. I’m so lucky you have me two days in a row. Today, we are back at sea, whoop whoop, or at sea for the first time ever for the 40b students. As I type this right now, I see my water bottle sliding all over hell’s half acre – so thats how I know we have truly begun again. Yes, I am dramatic and make mountains out of molehills for emphasis, but I would do anything for emphasis. Today, though, was a pretty good day as I got to be skipper, and we had passage prep all day – which really means that I got to be the welder of the clipboard; what an exciting power trip of a day. It was actually lovely. During our day of prep, it was both hot as you know what but also downpouring at times – boy, do we love the Pacific! Luckily, this means everyone could be pleased by the weather – both those who love to be cooked and those who love to be a part of the rain. While I could go on and on about every natural phenomenon (Maui – Moana), there were some truly lovely parts of the day that were worth sharing. – We got to experience our last ocean dunk for the week – We got to say hi to Jamie, our travel advisor, at the dock – We were parked next to a container ship (ooooh) – I got to wear my new coat – And we got our new watch team . Dun dun duhhhh This is perhaps one of the most pivotal points of this voyage – the people we will spend practically every waking hour with. The beeping started as usual as watch team one was announced by Gabe’s group: Olivia, Elanore, Spencer, Addy, and Kylie. Then, with team two Kackie and Annas group: Iain, Annabelle, Beck, and Sidney (that is I). And last but not least – watch team three Steph and Kelsey: Lexy, Austin, Lainey, Reagan, and William. These amazing groups will come to know each other even better as they sit together and guard the boat. Heres to wind and sunny skies as we set off for Raja Ampat, The Argo Crew. P.S. to Mum (and Dad) (from Sidney) – sorry I forgot to text goodbye before we left, and I think Ill just wait until I’m back in NH for another haircut (no stress about CA), LLKKHH
