Our students have arrived!
The spring semester is officially underway as all students stepped aboard for the first time. Travel weariness has not stymied the enthusiasm of this crew in the slightest. Many were eager to pitch in and lend a hand with some brief dinner preparation, and all were keen to tuck into the wonderful pasta and salad dish. Just before we could begin dinner, an adult sail training program on the vessel Challenger 1 entered the harbor and was assigned a berth alongside Ocean Star. The crew quickly shuffled Ocean Star over a bit to make room for our new neighbors as the Captain of Challenger 1 skillfully maneuvered the vessel between S/Y Ocean Star and S/Y Axia. As long as the weather permits, dinner aboard Ocean Star is generally held on deck across a long table that accommodates the entire crew. This evening’s meal was a bit surreal as another neighboring yacht captain broke out his guitar and serenaded the group while the sunset amid the background of English Harbour. What a day!
It will be a busy day of orientation and diving lessons tomorrow, but tonight, the crew settles in for some much-needed rest.
