Good mornings came at 5:30 am today while the sun was still down. All of us woke up groggy and singing along to Dont Look Back With Anger by
Oasis. Today also came with a firstputting on socks and sneakers.
Some of us described it as “having our feet suffocated” or being in “foot jail”. We launched the dinghy early and all got prepared to see the famous Komodo Dragons. All of us were guided straight into an enclosed pen and brought 6ft away from these massive lizards. The 3 in front of us were between 4- 6 ft long. Our guide Jack taught us that mainly all the dragons do is eat, sleep, and boom boom repeat. If that wasn’t enough, on our short hike around the park we ran into a Cobra, Java deer, Water Buffalo, and Monkeys. Noelle faced her fear of massive lizards today as well! Back on Argo, we got time to faff and have leadership class (CU Boulder, my class was watching Life of Pi; thank you for the college credits)! Today the crew had a 2-hour-long passage to the Pink Beach. Many of us were exhausted from the early wake, so half of us indulged in 3-hour naps while the others went and snorkeledI was a napper. Before dinner, an EFR Scenario happened, and we all ate dinner with an orange sunset. The squeeze question tonight was: Do you believe in a conspiracy theory? The Denver airport, aliens, and the national park caves drew the most curiosity. So before bed, do some research on those because we all are coming home with questions.
