Location: VandA Waterfront, Cape Town, South Africa
Today we enjoyed our free day in Cape Town. There are so many things to do that it was hard to decide, but by the end of the day, everyone came back to the boat with a great story about what they did.
Some people decided to designate their day to the amazing food in Cape Town, going to different restaurants and food stalls, eating as much amazing food as they could. Others visited the District Six museum and learned more about South African history. The sea bird conversation center was the destination for a small group of us today, and they were spoiled by seeing penguins swimming around in a pool, being as cute as they possibly can be. Bo-Kaap might be the most colorful place in Cape Town; its brightly colored houses are an amazing site to take in. Those of us who – after three hikes in the last three days – were still feeling a need for more exercise either explored the heart of Cape Town by foot or took it even further and went rock climbing. Even a helicopter tour over Cape Town, its surrounding mountains, and Cape Point is on the list of things that have been done today. The views were breathtaking, and the pictures can only show a little bit of the beauty of this part of the world.
The crew of Argo spent its last free day exploring as much as we possibly could, and together we saw a great part of this City.
Tonight we are going to start the end of this program: paperwork needs to be signed, and cards need to be written.
None of us can really comprehend where we are and what we are doing, but it will hit us soon enough. Until then, we will keep enjoying the last days we have together, keep exploring Cape Town, and keep making as many unforgettable memories as we can.
