Location: Galleon Beach, Antigua
After a much-needed night of sleep, we woke up, had breakfast, and then got right to work. In the morning, we handled any loose ends by going over policies and what was to be expected of us during our time on Ocean Star. Then, we learned about different parts of the boat. After that, we ate some lunch and got ready to leave the Antigua Slipway in English Harbor. Unfortunately for us, our neighboring ship’s anchor had crossed with ours, and it took some extra work to get it back on board, but it gave us some extra time to get started on our open water diving course. We left English harbor and sailed around the corner to Galleon Beach and dropped anchor. With plenty of time left in the day, we continued working towards our scuba certifications by getting into to basics of scuba diving. We followed that up with our first ocean shower, a swim test, and then our first fire drill!
