Location: Les Saintes
This morning started bright and early with an anchor watch at 4 AM. After removing Mac and James from duty, Liam and I had a sleepy conversation about our favorite memories of the many adventures weve shared. Fighting to stay awake, we entertained ourselves with leftover cookies that were smuggled from the galley. Afterward, we got what felt like only a few more seconds of sleep before we were up again at 6:30 AM. I woke everyone up to the sweet sound of Phil Collins, except for all my port-six roommates, who deserved some extra rest. Everyone grabbed a quick breakfast, thanks to Emmas cheffing, and hopped in the dinghies. Immediately after stepping onto the beach, we began our long and strenuous hike. We climbed to the top of a small mountain, where we were greeted by a beautiful view of Les Saintes and the town below. After a heated debate at the summit as to whether James could catch and kill a rooster (Jesse strongly believed he could not), Smash released us for free time on the island.
James, Eduardo, Mac, Eliza, Brendan, and I all hung out on the mountaintop for a while longer and explored the fort that was there. Next, we climbed down the mountain and into the town. There, we saw some friends, including Boston, Amy, multiple Graces, Audrey, and Talia, hanging out at the beach. We stopped in a cafe to grab drinks and a snack. At one point during this program, I remember calling my dad and him telling me he had been reading some of the blogs. He asked me if we did anything but eat during shore time. Well, Dad, heres your answer. After some snacks at the Cafe, we strolled around town and ended up at a gelato place. Then, we promptly headed to lunch. After some amazing fish and smoothies, we headed back to the boat to get ready for diving. We dove in three groups and saw plenty of amazing fish and other creatures. The highlight of my dives was a huge ray. After the dives, we had some delicious beef enchiladas, thanks to Emma. To finish up the day, we prepped for passage tomorrow morning. Thank you all.
