Location: Gustavia, St. Barth
Our day began bright and early with a quick breakfast and clean up so we could maximize our time at the beach, where we had our wave dynamics lab and surfed, or tried to at least, until our bruised and scraped bodies couldn’t take any more. Boomer ferried us back to town, showing off his taxi driver skills while we were in the back, rocking out to French pop and Enrique. We hung out on shore or on the boat for the rest of the afternoon, some of the crew venturing to get their first proper shower in 65 days, as the port of Gustavia offers free fresh water showers. The evening proceeded with savory Thanksgiving turkey at a quaint French restaurant, followed by some live music at a sushi bar down the road, a festive end to what was, for most of us, a first Thanksgiving away from home.
