Rinse soap rinse dry
So simple and yet
It was late in the afternoon and deck wash was still not over
Many hands came to help
Many hands got the order wrong
Oh come on says Sidney rolling her eyes
Youre just too micromanaging and your hash browns are the wrong shape
Youre making potato chips, look
You’re using the wrong side of the grater
Olivia types and types away while Gabe and Sidney
Prepare for breakfast the next day
We reminisce about the day that passed

It was our last and final day
A day of only and just BA
What is BA I hear you ask
for readers at home who arent clued in
BA is just an acronym
B is for boat
A is for appreciation
And all day we toil
To make Argo not gross

The students do labor above and below
In bilges and dinghies
With brushes and soap`
There fingers all shriveled their shoulders all sore
Whose speaker is charged?
Is it cool if I aux?
I mean you did it last time
Yeah but I just thought
I kind of wanted to aux this time
Yeah let her have a turn
Actually could I do it
We still dont have a speaker

In the galley
With William and friends
The cabinets were emptied
And swept all within
The spices were purged
When Kelsey came down
Why do we have three open cardamoms?
And instant dry yeast
Spilled all over the floor
And the chefs made chicken breaded with cheerios

We needed to wash the sides of the boat
And on the dock is a hose
How wonderful, we thought to ourselves
We can save the water in our own tanks
And go to the dock and just use their hose
Except it’s too short so we add our ownAnd to get to the dock you cant just step
First into a dinghy you will get
And pull yourself along the lines
Careful not to be crushed by the surge
And leap ashore while you still have time
And run to the valve to power the hose
And check it for leaks before it explodes
The nozzle popped off
Close the valve quick
Hurry back in the dinghy
And rinse and repeat

The potatoes are done now but we still write the blog
A consciousness stream
Poetic in form
Why dont we call it just cleaning the boat
Does saying BA imply something more?
A ritual experience thats really just chores

Tonight is now the last of the nights
And bags are packed in the salon
We went out to dinner
And got paper plates
With monikers written upon
We took all our photos
And begin our goodbyes
Tomorrow we part from each other
But nothing is over
If its still in your memory
And so forever on Argo theyll belong
