Location: Savannah Bay, Virgin Gorda, BVI
We started today off around 6:45am with our first fire drill. After we all reported on deck with our life jackets, it was time for breakfast. We then had our first Oceanography class which included a hike to the windward and leeward sides of the island. During the hike we found a 50 lb piece of ambergris (a digestive secretion produced by sperm whales), which we’re hoping is worth a lot of money, as it is used in the fragrance industry. After the hike, the certified divers went diving at a near by reef while the new divers finished class. After lunch it was the new divers turn to finish our Confined Water dives for our certification. Next came showers and dinner. We are finishing the night with a first aid and CPR certification class.
