Location: St Lucia, South Africa
Today we woke up bright and early. Safari time! With a quick breakfast of chilaquiles from head chef Adda, we were up and ready for a big day. We left Port Richard on our buses to get over to Saint Lucia, where we would be spending the night. Maias exquisite aux and Emmas awesome snacks, (and whatever happened in the other bus), made the hour and a half drive feel like nothing. Upon arrival, there was a playground nearby where Destiny, Keith, Rai-Ching, Thaxton, and Hannah swung around on ropes and reminisced about their childhood. There were signs all over the place saying Warning: Hippos that worried us a bit. We then made our way over to the hotel to check in and try to get our rooms. Without successfully getting the rooms, we had some free time, where everyone explored a bit of the town. At some point, Henry and Zeke got haircuts, and Jewel got a new jacket. We made it back with much time to spare, so I ate the sandwich that I prepared earlier that morning… yum. After this, we went on a river cruise where we saw many Hippos. Scarlette, Alice, Fin, and Vera all got some awesome pictures. Now its real safari time. We loaded up in our trucks and set off. We saw Zebras, kudus, Warthogs, impalas, and got super close to this elephant off the road. Halfway through, we settled down off the road to have some coffee, tea, and snacks.
During this tea and coffee time, we saw an elephant and had to run back to our trucks. Luckily, we survived and went home. Then we went to dinner, where I indulged in a delicious steak with chimichurri…double yum. Now we are back at the hotel, its pouring rain, and people are swimming. Goodnight.
Hey, Sweetstevens family, love you!
