Location: Moosel Bay, South Africa
Today started as most days have started when I am skipper, which was with sea shanties with a new edition of the Reveille military wake-up on a trumpet that was surprisingly effective. From there, we would have a really good lemon-blueberry muffin bake. Whilst also making our own Mediterranean wraps for lunch, since we were going to be leaving the boat for a day on shore today. The plan was to go to the naval history museum and go on a hike afterwards.
After a surprisingly short walk, we would reach the naval museum, which was pretty neat. The museum had a section with a ship dedicated to Bartolomeu Dias that we sadly could not get on cause it was closed down that day. Another part of the museum was a shell museum and aquarium, which had some interesting little critters in it. Finally, the museum also had a few small cottages, and after looking at the cottages for a while, I would go with a group to a small coffee shop where I would have some good old hot chocolate. After enjoying our drinks, we would go to a really cool antique store, and after walking around it for a while, we would meet up with the rest of the crew for the hike.
Once everyone was gathered, we would go on another walk to the hiking trail. The hike was really beautiful, and I would end up at the head of the group, where I would listen to some music whilst walking along, simply enjoying the view. After walking along a cliff for a few hours, we would turn around and be set free to roam around for a bit, with the plan being to meet back up at Vela at 5:00 to prepare for dinner. Within that time frame, I would go with a group and enjoy a cookies and cream milkshake, wander through a few shops, and eventually find our way back to the antique shop where I would buy a pocket watch for eight bucks. Eventually we would end up back on Vela where we would enjoy some white chicken chili and corn bread that was more a soup than bread. With dinner coming to an end, I would end the day with the question, If you could build anything with no limits on what it would take to build it, what would you build?
With that being said, this concludes my final log as skipper
