Location: Underway to Mauritius
Hello stakeholders, It’s funny to think of the ocean as my permanent view. All around, Argo is surrounded by beautiful waters and not a sight of life in view. A passage comes to an end. I’m going to miss the calmness of sailing out on our own. Anything can truly happen out here, and I’m thankful for Argo carrying us safely across the Indian! Life is never boring on Argo; there’s always something special about to happen, so just give it a minute. Today, we made our own pizzas for lunch; shout out to Hannah and Drazka for cheffing it up in the galley and for Tomer as well! We then had our marine bio exam, which was dreaded but made up for afterward with a great leadership class! Amanda presented her leadership skills, and then we had our destination presentation for Mauritius and a few of our two-minute ‘how to’ presentations that were very informative. For the presentations, a list of topics was suggested. The most popular decision was the one that they had to make an on-the-spot presentation. Amanda presented how to spot a windbag, Charlie presented how to kidnap Utah’s state paleontologist, Travis presented how to find your soul mate, Philip presented how to find the meaning of life, and Juliette presented how to roast someone using astrology.
All were very well done and hilarious! Tonight l have watch from 8 to 12 so l will get to see the sunset which is always beautiful! Mauritius by tomorrow?? The next day?? Maybe?? Passage is finally coming to an end!! It’s felt like years since we last stepped foot on land and that’s all about to change, everyone is eager to explore and especially get ice cream! Some of my favorite memories so far on this passage have been being hosts with Hannah for Charlie’s family feud bday addition game, making bagels for my chef day with Hannah, which took 5 hours, and the Lemurian Diamond ceremony where we all performed talents to impress the monsters in return for our safety.
Many sacrifices were made, including the sacrifice of Clayson (Argo’s pet rat) This is for you, Clayson: To the rat who crossed the sea. When we were sleeping, you were snacking on our bananas and potatoes. When we were awake, you were eating our insulation and cables. Your presence will be missed, and may we all remember those days of bliss when we found out you were indeed alive and on our boat. With grace and beauty, you led the way; you bonded our ship, and you changed our lives. The countless hours spent searching for you in our bilges will be missed. May we always remember your love for our beloved boat and for life, never giving up and fighting until the last of days and nights, until your bulky chicken-filled body slowed down and your heart stopped. I will always remember you and never let these memories of us go. Now you are too a part of the ocean, and may you never forget how loved you were Once and always an argonaut. P.S. Sending love to everyone back at home. I miss you guys! Also, my hand is completely fine now. Jimmy’s gone! Pps – shout out to Hannah’s mom, dad, and brother Ben
