Hey everyone!
Today was an easy day that took the edge off of all our very hard-working days and extreme adventures. We began the day with delicious pancakes that our head chef Francesca (aka Cheese) woke up at 5:30 for us to all enjoy at 7. When we were finished eating breakfast, we all got dinghied to shore for the adventure of the day. Our taxi driver, Sarge, and his super awesome blue taxi “Sarge’s taxi” fit all 14 of us… somehow. He drove us to the place we would partake in kayaking. When we were finally able to kayak after waiting quite a while because people seemed to forget how to sign their names on a paper, and then another long while because we had to wait for the kayaks to be set out and cleaned. Then we were off! Francesca (Cheese) and I (Mack) = (Mack n Cheese) decided we’d take it easy, so we paddled over to a cool rock on the other side of the bay, turned around, and let the waves slowly push us back where we came. It was SO relaxing!
We even saw a turtle… so so so relaxing. Meanwhile, we watched everyone else tear each other apart in the water and kayaks. Capsizes. Takeovers. Paddles being stolen. The whole shebang. This was the best entertainment Mack n Cheese had seen all day. However, we decided to get a better view by going back to the beach where we started. We put our kayak up, grabbed our things, and went to the restaurant next door with the perfect view of this entire act going on in the bay. It was like watching a movie. Pia Colada (virgin) in hand and the best view in the house.
When we arrived back at the boat, we studied for hours and surprisingly got a lot done. I’m feeling a lot more confident about my paper and got it on the right track to finish it off soon! During squeeze tonight after dinner, we shared all our fun memories for the day. The treacherous acts of stealing conchs (they put them back, don’t worry) and paddles, trying to kayak a few miles to another island (unsuccessfully) (for some reason), and the delicious cafe we went to after kayaking. The night had come to a close, and tomorrow we set sail to St. Barts! The rich French island!
To my family & friends,
I love and miss you so so much, and I can’t wait to share all the memories I’ve made on this trip with you!
