Location: Malaga

Brig and Avery woke everyone up today for a berry smoothie bowl breakfast prepared by Nicole, Rina, and Piper. Then Brig, Ella, Avery, and Logan, along with the staff, guided everyone in learning how to use the pin rails and coil lines. Ian got tangled in some lines but was heroically rescued by Shane.
Then it was time to divide everyone into watch teams. Each watch team learned their roles in an emergency such as a fire and an abandon ship situation. Nick pulled the fire alarm to test our knowledge and escape skills, and we got to shoot off the fire hose. During this time, Charlie returned from his quest at the airport (his favorite place in Malaga, it was his 5th time in 3 days)of getting Harrison’s lost bag and our three missing students, Emory, Derick, and B. After he returned, we all enjoyed a meal of lentil soup with a side of bread, and in case you didn’t know, lentils are a SUPER food, so we felt very healthy after lunch.
Then, since we had all our Gumby suits on deck, we raced to see who could put them on the fastest (we all looked super tough).
Soon after, it was time to finally leave. We took up the fenders and deflated them, we stowed the passerelle, and we removed the dock lines. Then we set off for our longest passage of this whole trip, from Malaga to Mallorca, and everyone was able to show their line handling skills as we hoisted the staysails. We also saw some pretty cool dolphins as we left the marina. The staff had a serious talk about the rules of Argo. After a time for dinner, we all had dinner together, which was a delicious peanut stir fry made by Nicole and Rina.
