Location: Palau, Sardinia

Long day today.. After being woken up at 2:45 am for anchor watch, my buddy Bryson made some ramen at about 3:30 am and absolutely loved watching if the boat was dragging or not. Then, at 4 am, our shift ended, and we woke up Ben and Emily for their shift. I finally went back to sleep (probably the best night of sleep so far) after an amazing watch, but not before I was woken up again at 6:45 am to be the skipper for the day. I started by waking everyone up at 7 am and having everyone muster in the cockpit for breakfast. We had a delicious breakfast, which was yogurt, granola, and fruit. Then everyone but my group geared up and got ready for their dive, whether it was the certified divers scrubbing the hull with Shane or Aidan and RRachel’sgroups doing their first open water dives off the boat.

Meanwhile my group and I took some quizes on recreational dive planners.. which was not easy. Then lunch came around, and everybody was back from their dive, and my group was all finished with the lesson. We eat lunch, and now iit’smy ggroup’sturn to tackle the open water dives off the boat, and the certified divers do a dive for advanced. In my group, it was me, Luca, Samantha, Chloe, and our amazing teacher, Nacho, so shout out to Nacho for being the best teacher and making our dives so much fun. We did some skills underwater and explored a bit. My favorite part had to have been when Nacho points out something in the seagrass on the ocean floor and Luca goes to grab it, thinking it was a piece of trash, but in reality it was a starfish (that was a big no-no). Also, another great part of the dive was messing with Luca, which he did not like at all. We eventually finish up with our two dives, and now I am exhausted. We wash off all of our gear and put it away, I take an amazing ocean shower, and then get straight into comfy clothes and go take a nap out on the net at the bow of the boat with Teo, Luca, Teegan, and Alexa. It was amazing. Then we had intro to oceanography, which was great because Nacho is teaching the class. After we head to dinner and enjoy a great meal made by Shane, with Bryson and Teo being his sous chef. We clean up and head to the intro to seamanship, which is taught by Shane. Nighttime comes around, and everyone gets their phone back, and I’m sure everyone is going to be calling and texting their parents and friends. I am super tired now and super thankful I do not have anchor watch tonight because I am exhausted, and tonight is the first night it might rain. Everyone get their foul-weather gear ready!!!

I hope everyone’s family is doing well, and I can’t wait to see mine!

Also wishing you a happy birthday, Mia – From Chloe
