Location: Gorda Sound, Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands
We woke up at 07:00, had breakfast then we had an oceanography class, going through the science gear on board to get some ideas for our research projects. This was followed by the dissection of a squid that had jumped on deck in the night! Then, we went to Byras Creek for a snorkel along the mangrove tree line to see the juvenile fish who use the trees for protection. We got back to Ocean Star and had lunch. In the afternoon, the PADI Open Water students learned how to use the PADI Recreational Dive Planner and took some quizzes. We then had an MTE class and then dinner at 18:00. It was hot and sunny all day, not a cloud in the sky, a perfect day in the BVI.
