What we thought would be an uneventful day turned out to be another hectic one, and I had the pleasure of waking up extra early for a 4 am watch and immediately succumbing to seasickness. Although this was our roughest passage yet, we were much better about releasing our inner evils to the ocean rather than the bilges… many new names were crossed off on the puke list. You might be wondering why today is titled “Mediterranean Bull Ride,” and that is because we continued to experience 3-5 meter waves while trying to reach France. I was one of many who caught air while trying to sleep — a 24-hour rollercoaster ride! During the 4-8 am watch, Riley went to fix the jib and was suddenly dunked by a huge wave over the bow. Those who were not shielding their eyes from the sea spray saw the whole event happen, and it was the highlight of many people’s days. Getting closer to our anchorage spot, we had a chaotic lunch down below, which featured the very popular naan. Arriving in France was absolutely gorgeous, although windy, and everyone ended up with dried salt all over themselves. While putting the boat to bed, Jimmy accidentally skied a halyard, and Carolyn took on the courageous task of rescuing it by being pulled up in a harness. We ended the day with a delicious carbonara made by Skylar (shoutout to her dad for the amazing recipe) and my squeeze question of the day, “what is the best advice you’ve ever received?” After a long day, we are eager for some much-needed rest before exploring Monaco tomorrow!

Abby and Sophia, don’t go crazy without me! Sending love to Molly, Harley, Dutch, Hazey, and Benny <3
