Location: Underway to Sardinia

Waking up today on the 18th of September. We started our day off with a mixed berry fruit salad for breakfast. Before we started off on our pin rail lesson, the students were split into three groups, where we learned how to foil lines and operate the pin rail system. Following our pin rail lesson, we got to hear the sentence that we have all been waiting to hear: “One hour till we depart for Sardinia.” One hour later, we were undoing dock lines before being led out of the slip by a pilot boat that started our overnight adventure towards Sardinia. Right after we hit the open water, we started our safety drills, where we were split into our watch groups for the first time and all learned our roles in case of an emergency. Today was also the first day when the students who were not scuba dive certified started their course before getting to leave class early to see a pod of dolphins, where we all got to even see a baby dolphin do a flip. Now with only 10 hours left till Sardinia, we still haven’t seen a white cap all day. Hoping for our first night of overnight passage to be smooth and gain a lot of sleep.
