Location: Sandy Island, Carriacou

Today, we got up early to start our passage from Grenada to Sandy Island in Carriacou. We got up a new sail today! The flying jib. It was super cool to have up. We had almost all of our sails up today. Our sail was beautiful and serene. During our short passage, we had our seamanship presentations. Zoe and I’s presentation was about parts of the sail and points of the sail. A little after lunch, we arrived at Sandy Island. The island is beautiful, and the water is crystal clear. We dropped the anchors and then had Oceanography. Class was interesting, and it was fun to learn new information. After, we had to move the anchors so that if they dragged, they wouldn’t drag over a coral reef. Once that happened, everyone went snorkeling. A bunch of us were practicing some free diving and going to the bottom. We also were doing jumps and flips off of the boat. It was tons of fun; hopefully, we will get a chance to do more snorkeling tomorrow. We had delicious nachos for dinner, and it was the perfect meal to end a pretty awesome day. I believe that if the current is not too strong, we get to swim to the island tomorrow!
