Location: Pink Beach, Komodo, Indonesia

Everyones day started off at slightly different times. We had our first morning of passage, during which you got to choose your own breakfast adventure. Many choose to eat during their watch time and sleep in until 11 am when it is time to get up and start the day. We came into Komodo just as lunch was finishing up, and Allie, Ali, and Bodhi hopped into the dinghy to get us onto the morning ball. Then it was time to get into dive mode; all of the dive tanks were pulled out of the laz, and the open water students all geared up to get in the water. All of the open water students got to experience their first giant stride off of Argo. Now, if you dont know that, that is picture standing on the side of the boat, 8ft from the water, with a SCUBA tank on your back and taking a large step forward. Once everyone made the stride into the ocean, it was time to complete open water dives 3 and 4. The reef under the boat was lush with coral and more fish than you could count. Many crews surfaced and quickly ran down to the fish ID books in the saloon to identify all the species they saw. While the open water divers were in the water, Charlie Amanda D and I got in the water to do his first advanced open water dive, where he expertly navigated us around the reef. The rest of the crew took some time to snorkel the reef or study for their upcoming oceanography quiz. As the night is winding down, the crew is preparing the boat to head off early tomorrow morning to go find some Komodo dragoons.
