Location: Cape Verde
After 3583 nautical miles the crew of Argo have it “dialed in”. What is meant by that is the days run seamlessly together, everyone is on the same page and working together for the common cause. The tasks at hand such as raising sails, launching tenders, and man overboard drills are second nature. Everyone on watch together agrees that the time has started to fly and everyone realizes that its time to seize each fleeting moment.
Today we arrived after our longest passage to date from Tenerife to the Cape Verdes archipelago offshore the west coast of Africa. Calm seas lead to a great passage and everyone was excited as ever to arrive in a new exotic local. Unfortunately we were temporarily postponed getting onto shore because it being a Sunday the immigration office was closed. No worries though Argo is looking stunning due to everyone’s hard work put in today which also consisted of the normal academic day. People’s spare time has begun to shift, laptops are being exchanged for textbooks and navigational charts fill the salon. After dinner now, the deck has been stowed of various projects and everyone is down below preparing for the next perfect day.
