Location: St Lucia
We spent the morning learning about “Reef Check,” a protocol used all over the world to monitor reefs. We met up with the manager and rangers of the Soufriere Marine Management Area and learned about their history and struggle to preserve marine life in St. Lucia. This afternoon, we performed a “Reef Check,” counting fish, invertebrates, and types of substrate. The water here is incredibly clear, and we had an awesome dive. We identified a wide range of creatures and enjoyed the beauty of the depths.
