Location: Tabago Cays
Hey everyone!! Today was a super fun day. We started off the morning after brekky doing a fish ID dive at the reef slightly off the coast of Union Island at Chatham Bay. Our dive today was around a depth of 50 feet down… That is so crazy in a great way, though. There were so many animals to see. My favorite of the day was seeing a striped grey and white eel snake (not the actual name, but the description of it). I saw my first sea turtle on the trip today. It was so tiny but so cute after we saw rays on our swim back to the boat. After diving, it was anchors up. We had a yummy lunch on our passage to Tobago Cays. It was about an hour’s journey over. We anchored by one of the islands, a good swimming distance away from the beach. We had two classes today; one was oceanography, and the other was seamanship.
Classes took up most of the afternoon, but before dinner, everyone jumped in the water to snorkel to the little island. There are seagrass patches, corals and many fishies and rays to see on the way. The island is tiny, but that does not take away from its beauty. The beach is amazingly beautiful, and seeing some of the sunset from the top of it (after a short climb up) was breathtaking. The Tobago Cays is the best chance to see some amazing wildlife. The water is crystal clear, and it’s just like those photos one may see of a picturesque beach. Anywho, that was our amazing day.
