Location: Grand Anse D'Arlet
This morning, we set sail for Martinique, the first of the French Islands that we will visit. The sail was 30 nautical miles of crisp breeze reaching, miles were covered quickly, and we soon made landfall at a southern French fishing village called Grand Anse D’Arlet, a quiet town just around the corner from the bustling capital – Fort De France. The crew put the boat away, showered in the sea, and finished up a little last-minute studying for the OCE Management quiz in the evening. The day was capped off with some practical plotting of current vectors on the navigational chart before turning in for a good night’s sleep, a great end to a perfect day!
