Location: somewhere between The Azores and Gibraltar
Welcome back to another day of passage. Although the rhythm may seem monotonous, I think each day is sprinkled with plenty of uniqueness, and this is the beauty of life on passage. Essentially living the same day on repeat, with the same ocean, and same people, same classes, and the same schedule. But I assure you each day feels just a little bit different, and you grow to love and appreciate these small changes that otherwise would almost certainly go unnoticed. Today the most appreciated change of pace was our ship’s name spelled out in bread for lunch. And while some days feel long, each day has a new opportunity to offer, and it would be a waste to let it pass by. This morning, a few members of watch team one and I sprinted to the bow to see dolphins playing around our boat. It’s opportunities like these that are so special and separate this day from the last. Like every great parable, there has to be a lesson, so take in every day because there’s something new to learn and experience in each one, don’t waste them because we only have so many, and enjoy yourself; what’s life without fun?
