Location: Wayag, Raja Ampat

Hello friends and families!
Today started early for some of us with a sunrise snorkel. Kackie, Anabelle, Olivia, Sydney, Tomer, and Elanore woke up early. They saw lots of cool corals, anemones, seastars, a squid, and a lionfish. Anabelle spotted a sea turtle and a pufferfish! The rest of us took some time to sleep in.
We had a delicious breakfast with Steph, the head chef of the day, who made pumpkin bread. After breakfast, we headed back to the Equator Beach, a beach that the equator runs right through and has a statue to mark the change in hemisphere. We had gone diving off of it yesterday and, upon seeing all the trash on the beach, decided to do a trash pickup today.
We ended up filling seven big bags of trash (and a few handfuls of stuff that didn’t fit into the bag). We finished with enough time to take some photos with the statue and sprint across the equator back and forthLexy crossed the equator 24 times this morning.
We returned back to Argo and said goodbye to Kawe, and got ready to set off to Wayag. Austin helped untie Argo from the coconut trees she was anchored to, and we were off. While underway, rescue divers will start their training. When we finished, we emerged from the salon to see the most beautiful landscape of bright blue waters dotted with islands and beaches. Everyone stood up on deck to watch as we pulled into our anchorage spot.
After navmaster class, we did diving skills. Future rescue divers practiced diver tows and roleplayed panic diver scenarios. Lainey and Beck meanwhile worked on their divemaster skills.
We returned and showered before sitting down for dinner.
That’s all for now!
